A pale blue shirt may have been on my Capsule Wardrobe list (back here) but had not yet made itself into my actual wardrobe until last week. Hunting one down that was not chambray was surprisingly difficult considering it is such a simple, useful basic. I found two- one of which was NOT cut properly at all (which I was really surprised by as it was Witchery and I know they know better!) the second was this one from Sportscraft which hit the nail on the head. I have since worn it a lot, for work, with jeans, black leather shorts… It is a typical capsule wardrobe item perfect to mix and match with your other pieces. I am not 100% sure it worked out right with this skirt, as the fabric should ideally be softer and the buttons open lower to get the look just right. However, I was all too thrilled to throw on this skirt and share it with you. I love light grey skirts, the flares on this are that feminine touch that I can either embrace, or cover with a long knit or leather motorcycle jacket to toughen up. I will definitely post this skirt worn with other options. It also comes in blue (see here) which I think worn with a cream chunky knit jumper would be amazing. I don't need another one, that would be greedy, so someone else better get the blue version so I can appreciate it. Deal?! :)

I can not stress enough how glad I am that I added white leather shoes and a clutch to my staples, I have worn them repeatedly. They make for a nice change to black and often pair better with lighter hues without taking away too much attention. As long as you find good quality pieces, white leather will do you many favours. Upon looking up the link to this Katherine Dunmill clutch to add above, I noticed her new 'Call To Arms' military inspired collection is online. The Fabian Strategy Bucket Bag is incredible… looks like a new item has been added to my wish list.

I love discovering places. As Heidy and I attended a fashion preview for Villa Laguna this week in Cottesloe, I happily fell for The Beach Club, a recently renovated hot spot. Apparently this place used to leave a little to be desired, but, now it is calling us and warmer weather.
After the show, we quickly snapped these before the rain kicked in and blew us away anymore.
I am loving any excuse to wear this ASOS stripe top, and my Katherine Dunmill Mind Games of a Scandalous Rouge necklige (on sale here for $56!).
You can see my ankle is still strapped, (did anyone notice how swollen it was in my Hatch Week shots- I swear I only wore heels for the photos!) so flats are still a must.

As you can no doubt tell from the Perth Fashion Festival coverage, Western Australia is brimming with incredible designers. The sheer number of designers who show each year- each with their own unique take on the modern Australian fashion aesthetic, is astounding.
Hatch Boutique, recently relocated into a beautiful store in enex100, (Hay Street Mall), supports this local talent, stocking a huge range of WA labels.
With the intention of creating a retail experience unique to Perth, Hatch stock many of these labels exclusively, working closely with the designers to ensure their collections are showcased and available straight off of the runway.

Baring this in mind, we have teamed up with Hatch to produce a lookbook of their Spring- Summer stock, as interpreted by Perth bloggers.
Over the coming week you will see how I styled four looks, from casual, right through to evening.
In the subsequent weeks I will share the links to the other bloggers involved in the project, each with their own style- I cannot wait to see what they come up with.

The first look- my casual, morning look is perfect for running around in. This outfit is ready for the warmer weather- can take you from brunch, to a festival, or just zipping around town. I am in love with each piece.

I swooned over this Gyptian bag- the icon shoulder bag, in beautiful lambskin, with geometric detailing.
Alister Yiap creates the most interesting, sculptural jewellery, having just shown an incredible collection last week, this necklace, with sterling silver pendant is an elegant, long piece to throw over and adapt into your everyday wardrobe.
Wild Horses have beautiful draped silk monochrome pieces ready for the Spring Summer warmth. This cropped singlet I could wear over high waist jeans, or skirts, layered with another tee (as seen on the PFF Designer Capsule #2 runway) or over a lace bra-let.
Steph Audino, captured my love of silk and comfort with these shorts. Beautiful to wear, the shorts are a sporty moment for Audino, who you will see me feature later this week with a stunning evening gown.
Any reader of Shut My Eyes will know I am a big fan of Katherine Dunmill, this braided wrist wrap from her new collection is a simple finishing touch to balance this outfit.
All items are available at Hatch.

A special thank you to Hatch for collaborating with us.

Katherine Dunmill this week launched her latest collection The Bootlegger and the Baptist at the new Hatch store in enex 100.
Channeling a 1920's art deco vibe, Katherine's collection combines her handmade leather accessories, in staple black, white and tan while this time also branching out to handbags, and clothing.
Cropped tops, fringed vests and buttery soft leather shorts round out the collection, adding a luxurious touch which can go from bohemian to rock with a range in between.
My fave pieces include the embroidered leather clutch (in both black and white), the leather shorts, and of course, one of Katherine's signature neck pieces.
Stylist and man about town Mikey Walton modelled some of the pieces for me above.
We need to get you in that suede vest Mikey!!

The collection is now in store at Hatch, and will hit the Katherine Dunmill online store soon.
I am sure you will see more featured on Shut My Eyes in coming weeks.

Living with Lucre Sale

 photo LivingWithLucre_zpseb1db2ad.jpg

Some items are like a personal signature.
While working on Shane Warne The Musical, director Simon Phillips described my wide brimmed Lack Of Color Montanna Midnight Muse hat as being my signature item.
I certainly have worn it almost every day since it arrived weeks ago. Pictures to come soon.

One of my most loved signature pieces is a black leather necklige from Katherine Dunmill.
You know the one. I think I have blogged it more than anything else this year... but just for good measure and because it is freaking cool... I will throw in a pic here...

 photo Living-With-Lucre-promo_zpsd12e2361.jpg

I can not wear my 'Flirting with the Other Tribe' Necklige without people asking about it, and where to get something like it. Well it is your lucky day...
Right now, Katherine Dunmill's entire Living With Lucre collection is on mega sale.
I previewed the collection at Hatch before leaving Perth, as seen on my instagram @jenellewitty. It embraces vibrant colours of yellow, lime, orange, sea foam, pink, red, cobalt as well as beautiful neutrals of black, tan, sand in buttery soft leather. The pieces are handmade with the utmost care. This collection also introduced cuffs, shoulder pads, belts and french lace neck pieces. One of the best things about Katherine's pieces is that they can simply transform an outfit- in that you could wear the same dress the next day, but throwing on a necklige, no one would ever know. Getting more wear out of your wardrobe is always welcome!

Simply enter the code "WINTERSALE" at the checkout to enjoy 50% off the Living with Lucre collection.

SA Designers Brunch

Photobucket

Hosted in the incredible historic Beechwood Estate, the SA Designers Brunch offered a beautiful, intimate morning of exquisite SA fashion. The Spring and Summer collections from Liza Emanuele, George Gross, Harry Who and Miss Gladys Sym Choon were paraded against a beautiful backdrop of which a designer can only dream.

The 6+ Acres of manicured gardens were breathtaking. I did not want to leave. Featuring a 100+ year old heritage listed atrium, rock gardens, manicured creek and more trees than I could take in, this location blew me away. I felt carried back to France, and secretly loved that this is an Adelaide gem. I think that the images of the gardens speak for them selves, so I shall leave it at that.

Again I had the infared camera this day, so there are some interesting shots, the foliage actually comes up looking pretty cool, so I have included some here.

I have definitely learned the lesson that if ever borrowing a camera, make sure to test it before you leave, in case it is the wrong one! Although, this did provide a very different take on fashion shows, no?

JenelleDesignerBrunch

Food provided by Travis Kerkman of The Marquis, was delicious, as was the coffee cart- perfect for the morning, and cute lolly bar. The fashion set were dressed in colour, and minus a few hats, looked ready for the Spring Racing Season. I particularly loved Cassie Young in Camilla and Kira-Lea of Bellaboo Beauty Blog in a purple, blue and green maxi.
A full outfit post from this day is to come, I did ensure to wear wedge shoes, which apart from sandals are the obvious choice to any garden event, (aerating the grass with stilettos is a definite no). I have a lot more to share with you from the 2012 Adelaide Fashion Festival this week.
