Kenzo Tiger Jumper, Dr Denim Jeans, Patent Heels (gifted, but similar here)

So this may be cheating a little, looking back on it, the swap for jeans with this jumper isn't such a stretch in the two-ways-to-wear department, but it is practical. I wear black jeans more days of the week than many other items in my wardrobe, so styling a graphic jumper with them is just what happens. Another staple to the wardrobe are patent black leather heels. I had worn my other pair to death, so left them in a box in Adelaide and soon quickly regretted it. My stylist friend gifted me these not long after the move, and I can definitely say that they have had their use. In my last post I went into more detail about what shoes I think make up the essentials to have in any wardrobe, so I will not repeat that here. It is however worth mentioning that I have rather hardened feet (toward sensitivity) as I walk around barefoot a lot. I love to be barefoot and feel the grass, sand, or even cement. There is something really grounding about it.

I carry a book with me everywhere I go, namely because I am a bookworm, but also, because I like reading to people. You never know when this will come in handy. I will often read aloud to my partner, which is why I got him to shoot me doing this mid act one morning on an early trip to Kings Park.

Two Ways To Wear: Kenzo Tiger Jumper (Part One)

This iconic jumper had been taunting me for so long that whenever I tracked one down it was seriously hard to walk away from. The red one was too bright, the green I had seen too much, I had too many grey jumpers already, etc etc. Then one day I found a blue one. It was bold, bright and not one I had seen a heap of times. For good measure I also tried on the cream Kenzo Eiffel Tower jumper, but that washed me out and I knew, I had to get this one. Funnily enough I also later scored a knit Kenzo tiger jumper from eBay about a week later from somone who had ordered from Green With Envy not realizing the sizes of these are a little on the small side. So, now, I have two, and I love them both.

You may be sick of them, sure, but I love it, so I thought it best to do a two-ways-to-wear series and show that a jumper that you love is actually a winner. This one is soft, and very warm, the knit one is wool, so it is super warm. I also live in my cashmere jumpers as much as possible, so it is safe to say I invest in them big time, even in summer. I think this stems from my Mum's love of knitting, as a kid I was able to pick a pattern and balls of wool each year (several times) and within a matter of weeks I had a new jumper to keep warm in. I had striped ones, ones with bows in many colours, open neck ones, etc. My fave was cream, long, loose and had a rolled collar and hem, it was so 90's, minimal and, 'cool'. I wish that was still around. Even if it is warm, I throw a jumper on in the morning or at night, so somehow they become as much a staple in summer as they are in winter.

Here I have paired them with a gifted pair of 'vegan' leather shorts- or so my friend calls them, and super comfy sandals for a dressed down summery look. I love blue and white together, it is a pairing I never quite get sick of.

You may recall my talking about items I commit to my closet working across several outfits/ looks. I thought it would be about time to share a couple of 'two ways to wear' posts, just to prove that I do actually honour this. I know there is a stigma of seeing someone wear the same thing more than once, but really, it's no big deal. Whether saving finances, your environmental consumer footprint or simply being a smart shopper, it is certainly okay to stretch your purchases and make optimum use of them.

The first item in my two-ways-to-wear is this Sportsgirl spotted blouse. I rarely go into a mall but when I needed new work shirts for summer, I found a bunch of these blouses and despite them being full price (something I tend to snobbily avoid- the mark up is just annoying on Australian clothes, and often chain stores will put something on sale weeks after it is released) grabbed a few. I love the wrap design and loose fit of this blouse. It is perfect to keep cool in with plenty of room to move. I have a rather extensive collection of polka dots/ spots in my wardrobe, it is elegant, fun and not too over the top. I keep prints to a minimum, but this is one I do not tire of. Naturally my eye was quickly drawn to this blouse.

Here I have paired it with black jeans and my fave new hat- both in neutrals and a pair of patent pump heels. The look is that little bit rock and roll without the OTT glamour and can go from day to night without feeling too overdone. To dress this look down I would untuck the blouse and swap the heels for a sandal- or in the heat swap the jeans for a denim short and only tuck in the front of the blouse.
Got a print that gets you every time? Let me know what it is below!
Part 2 of this Two-ways-to-wear up soon.
