The theatrical runway show from menswear label ZSADAR definitely caught my attention last night at the Designer Capsule #1. Charmaine of Heart+Bleecker had told me before hand of his last PFF show where models smashed peoples cameras on the runway. This time the collection 'Mysteries of the Organism' featured models dripped in octopus tentacles, feet bound in strips of black cotton, wrists chained with leather cuffs. Designer Shane Newton clearly utilizes a big imagination with well thought out concepts, reflecting nature, and the darkness of human desires. ZSADAR was a refreshing runway experience.
The other designers shown were Daniella Caputi, Lisa Marjanovich, and The Butcher and the Crow.
The dyed silks of The Butcher and the Crow were stunning, with fluid lines and subtle hues, I can see those being inspiration for contemporary ballet. In fact the inspiration came from Picnic at Hanging Rock, those mysterious girls lost to the outback. Titled 'the Wanderers' this collection has pieces I will definitely go looking for. (Black to green dress- I love!)
Will be bringing you WA Designer Collections and Designer Capsule #2 tomorrow.
